Certified Nursing Assistant

This program prepares students to work in an entry-level position in the rapid growing healthcare profession. A CNA works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, LPN, Physician Assistant or a Medical Doctor, providing assistance to patients with daily living tasks. Students will learn the necessary skills to care for patient needs such; patient feeding, bathing, grooming and dressing patient, assist patients with walking, exercising and moving in and out of bed and answer patient call signals. Students must complete 130 hours of training (100 hours of classroom/lab instruction and 30 hours of clinical). Topics of study are Anatomy & Physiology, Nutrition and Infection Control. 30 hours of clinical will follow classroom instruction. This training program leads to New York State Certification.
