| This course is designed for individuals with minimal or no knowledge of tax law and or preparation as it relates to businesses. Students will learn the basic concepts of tax law that relates to preparing the schedule C's ( business income/ losses) and form 1120 (Corporate tax returns). Individuals taking this course will be introduced to preparing tax returns both manually and using professional tax software program. In addition, individuals taking those course will also be introduced to basic tax research. Topics include: corporate income/ losses, business expenses, deductions, calculation of basis, and depreciation. Upon completion of this course students will receive a certificate in basic business tax preparation.
